Project timeline

From concept to operational prototype

The original timeline traces four weeks of brainstorming, CAD work, electrical assembly, housing construction, debugging, finishing, and final operation.

Week 1

3/8/24 - 3/15/24

Brewista team member working during week 1
  • Brainstormed ideas.
  • Created a CAD design of all components in place.
  • Created a mock-up on paper to later translate to wood.

Week 2

3/16/24 - 3/20/24

Brewista team member working during week 2
  • Ordered all electrical parts and began assembly.
  • Created a high-fidelity website mockup and learned React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Git foundations.

Week 3

3/21/24 - 3/28/24

Brewista team member working during week 3
  • Began website development.
  • Finished initial wood housing unit.
  • Tested pump intake system operations.
  • Began designing preset code.
  • Connected the Arduino motorshield to each of the pumps.
  • Fully assembled the wood housing unit.
  • Began designing pump attachments to the reservoirs.
  • Completed soldering of all electrical components.
  • Devised a cleaning procedure.

Week 4

3/29/24 - 4/5/24

Completed Brewista prototype during week 4
  • Finished an initial full-fledged prototype.
  • Debugged all issues.
  • Completed website.
  • Painted wood and added aesthetic components.
  • Completed project and ensured that it is fully operational.
